In life, we go through tough times, and sometimes we go through extremely dark times that might actually seem like it’s the end of the world. But if you just let the storm pass, took your time to heal, and detached yourself from the experience you’ve been through in order to analyze it objectively, the outcome will be totally different, and most probably it will be the beginning of a new world.
A severe breakdown can either bury you alive or become a new book added to the virtual shelf of wisdom inside your head. You were brought to this life to experience both ups and downs, otherwise you won’t be living, you will be just existing. The point is to learn from your downs and leverage them. Down times are the moments of peak learning. But the learning must be objective, and I’m stressing on that, you should refer to a credible resource in the same issue you went through when analyzing and reflecting on your own personal case; whether it’s a book that discusses and solves the same problem, or a credible person who successfully overcame a similar experience and was able to move on with his life and progress positively. Otherwise your analysis will become biased towards positioning yourself as a victim and you will fail to reach practical solutions, and you might get trapped in this victim-mindset for the rest of your life.
However, if you decided you want to learn your way out of this, you want to research why things might have gone wrong, you want to make it a reason for growth not an excuse for despair; you will grant yourself an access to an unlimited amount of knowledge, information and wisdom that you would have never discovered any other way. You will become the one and only expert of the very same thing that was once the source of your suffering. You will become the go-to person whenever someone faces the same struggle or challenge. You will have a lot of solutions to share with others after you’ve tried these solutions yourself. You will become someone of huge value to so many people. You will make people’s lives better by helping them overcome this very same obstacle. You might even one day write an inspiring book about it, who knows. Your sufferings and struggles become your areas of expertise, learn from them to help others overcome.
